Inside The Clayborn before the first big gig. The interior is in a poor state of repair and we marvel that it's even allowed. The ceiling looks dangerous. Whatever, it's a brilliant gig and one of the highlights for me.
He drives us home in his taxi and leaves his card. Most people you meet here work very hard, often in more than one capacity.
At The Arcade. I'm in Elvis' booth.

Friendly, welcoming people. When Betty tells them it's her first time in the snow the old guy replies "well that's a blessing."
As we're taking photos of the outside of the barber shop a quietly spoken man approaches and says he has the same subject on the cover of his album and to prove it gives us a free copy. Thanks John Pinamonti

San Francisco
The sun sets in the West over The Pacific, seen from our balcony. As two West Australians we find ourselves re aligned and re acquainted with the points of the compass at this moment after nearly a month in The US of having no idea where North, South, East or West are. I am surprised at how powerful this feeling is. It's also a hell of a lot warmer.
This is the view East toward the city of San Francisco.
